Minutes of the meeting of the Saskatchewan Fire Service Instructors Group in the city of Saskatoon, in the province of Saskatchewan on October 27, 2007.

Meeting called to order  by President Ron Pratt at 2:00 p.m.

In attendance  - President Ron Pratt, Secretary/Treasurer Larry Zadvorny,  Norbert Leblanc (Humboldt), Denis Pilon (Weyburn), Garth Palmer (Moose Jaw), and Rick Barsky (Pike Lake).

Agenda  -

       1.   Motion by Norbert Leblanc to accept agenda as circulated. Seconded by Denis Pilon.  / Carried.

Minutes of last meeting –

2.      Motion by Norbert Leblanc to adopt the minutes of last meeting on March 18, 2007. Seconded by Denis Pilon.  / Carried.

Report on Membership by President Ron Pratt.

            Forms are coming in slowly. There is limited support from organizations. Hank Neumiller has moved to Yorkton, and has been difficult to contact. We will be looking for a new Membership Chairman, if Hank decides to step down.

            Our membership has to grow. We can be taken seriously only if our numbers can be increased.

            Instructor certificates have to be forwarded, to validate credentials. They will be copied and kept on record.

Training Schedule report by President Ron Pratt.

            Fire department training schedules to be forwarded of upcoming events and dates to our website  -

( http://www.larongefire.ca/instructors/ ) .  This way other local fire departments can look at them, and plan to attend if there are members who require this training.

            Website is on-site organization, and is only as good as the information that is forwarded to it.

            There was a discussion on instructors, training, and OH&S / Code of Practice.

            President Ron Pratt to email reminders to send monthly training schedules to him for the web-site. There are few departments sending in their training records to be posted on the web-site.
